is it worth submitting to directories?

I count on directories for extra exposure (large or small ones) more than page ranking.

Yea, def worth submitting to directories...especially for PR.

 

Is it worth to submit your site in all the subdirectories of Google, Yahoo. Google have around 90+ directories and yahoo had 30+ i think. Is it necessary to submit your site in all these directories or you can submit your site to a limited no. of direc. Means out of 90 can be submit in 20 directories?
Is there any harm of it. If yes then plz guide me!!

Yes directory submission is the good way to increase your one way back link as well your keywords popularity and serp high and it could increase your page rank

 

The basic aim of directory submission is to create one way links to a website. This in turn generates more traffic flow towards your website and improves the search engine rankings.

 

Submitting to directories will always help your website. It will never hurt it. As a rule, I always try to submit all my new websites to directories, but of course it takes time.

 

I always have directory listings, not because they drive traffic or increase your SERP's but, occasionally a good directory listing can land on the first page with your main site, which strengthens your brand (although this is quite rare). But also that it helps mix up your BL profile, and keywords linking back to the site, as most directories let you use whatever title you like, which I believe helps, it's just a theory though!
