Hi all, I believe DP is the best place to get relevant answers for my question. We all know thousands of the arcade sites/gamescripts, all with similar look&feel, themes, gamepacks... I'm not sure if do they really profit or not, however I'm thinking about starting arcade site but I don't want to start something completely similar to all that 'gamescript' powered sites.. I was thinking about starting arcade site, but with some better (in terms of quality) model of game distribution - to deliver something unique as opposite to all that existing arcade sites. My current ideas: - Starting with _very_ precise selection of free games available - the motto is 'we don't offer thousands of games, we offer tens-to-hundreds that don't suck !' - Revenue sharing for Game developers so site can produce games that are nowhere else, with very interesting conditions for game developers (80/20 adsense revenue sharing on start, 90/10 for established developers) - Adobe AIR desktop application so users can view/play games directly from their desktop, receive notifications about new games very quickly. Desktop application will also display ads My current questions: 1. do you think it's worth starting arcade site today ? 2. do you think it's worth starting arcade site with ideas as I described ? 3. do you think all that 'gamescript' sites can make a profit ?
