Is it worth paying for a Featured listing / Category Showcase at Sedo?

I have this seriously high priced domain which I feel is falling short in terms price in the forums...
So i decided to list it in Sedo....
I believe after some research, i found that sedo provides two type of promotion for their listed domains

    • [*]Featured Listing - $39
      [*]Category Showcase - $9

Now my question is, as follows:

    • Is it worth going an extra mile promoting this domain listing.

    • I mean has anyone ever sold a domain through these promotion. Ideally speaking, a situation where appraisers may rate a domain high, but in the domain webmaster forum that same domain has a few turnups. Could it be possible that the same domain may sell as per my price plan, if i promoted my listed domain through Sedo Premium listing / Category Showcase ?

    • If the above two questions may rate as 'YES' then my third question is, which one amongst the below are preferrable in terms of selling a domain successfully (Success rate) ?

      • [*]Featured Listing
        [*]Category Showcase

    • If the first two question may rate as 'NO', then consider this as my third question....
If not sedo, then which place (portal/forum/etc) would you prefer to sell a domain with some kind of surety.?

    Kindly Note:

    • I am a considerate beginner in this domain industry, so the response in this thread may decide my future investment plans. Hence kindly consider my BEGINNER situation.
    Thanks,

Short answer is, no it's not worth paying.
Why? Because the featured listings are unlikely to push a marginal domain into an active auction.
If you really do have a valuable domain, it will be found without having to pay Sedo.

Lack of action at the forums is a hint. Yes, they seriously undervalue domains at times, but that should be a warning against pushing it into an auction where the same thing may happen.

If you really believe the name is being undervalued, you should wait for the right buyer. If you need to sell now, try contacting the right buyer directly.

If you are new to domains, it's unlikely that you are a good judge of value. Even seasoned domainers have trouble sometimes with that.

So, just my opinion, but conserve your funds for better uses, like buying another domain.

I totally agree with Chinatrout, it's not worth paying for it, i already received offers, and sold domains at Sedo without paying for exposure.

The right buyers will find you, don't worry, but if you need to sell fast try to contact end users, and make them a good offer, at the forums it's always harder to get the right price.
