If you think that some people are making more than 5 or even 6 figure amounts a month, I would certainly think so.

If you put some work in it , I think G's ads are the best solution on most websites.

If you have a product or service to sell, I wouldn't do it because you will have competitor ads on your pages. If you don't have a product or service then go for it. The worst that can happen is not get any clicks on your ads or get minimal revenue and that's what you are earning now.

It's only worth it, if you are really willing to put in time and make it work. I've known many (mostly bloggers) that throw Adsense at the bottom of their right sidebar and wonder why they aren't millionaires. If you have any kind of traffic (1000+ visitors/d), then you can make money. If you don't have traffic, then theirs ways to get some.

This is basically it. To me, Adsense is a full-time job.

The more time you spend learning it, the more money you make.

Have you any idea of the time and resources needed for a decent sized website to market and monitor its own advertising campaign, some outsource it!

When people diss/berate of adsense I see it as a service, if you have the traffic and the product in this day and age you can either go and "chase" your own advertisers at your own expense.....

    Or

Let google do it for you, what a fantastic service, don't you think?
I am sure you can answer your own question really.

Google is the only best source available for many webmaster arround the globe.

Learnig adsense, finding spots where your visitors can see ads and if they find it worthy they will click it, Adsense is all about how you represent it to your visitors wrapped in good piece of paper makes a dirty thing atleast viewable.

So adsense is all about learning, intergrating and when you done all the homework dont stop keep the work on as the days progress you will learn more.

    Regards.

I don't see how it wouldn't be worth it to put Adsense on an existing site, especially if the site already gets some decent traffic. Now, if you're talking about starting up a new site or learning how to maximize your Adsense income, then that's going to be a whole lot more work. You'll have to determine if that would be worth all the time you'd have to invest. For me, it's been worth it so far, but it depends on what other business ventures you may have going on.

Most of the previous comments address the value of adsense as it pertains to websites that are framed with adsense revenue as their central purpose.

Believe it or not guys, people make websites to actually sell stuff too ;)

    Point being:

    Q: Is AdSense worth it..?
A: Only if you don't have something else more valuable to promote.

Adsense can return you an income, and as demonstrated by some of DP's star players, it can in fact serve as a full time income, and in some cases a lucrative income I'm sure.

On the otherhand AdSense can take away focus (and traffic) that would otherwise shop the actual product or service offered on a site.

I say AdSense is fantastic if it is placed properly on the right site. When $0.05 adsense ads take traffic away to a competitor and you lose yet another opportunity to sell your $50 product - now thats a real sting.

On the other hand optimized correctly your informational site with few or no products has the potential to provide you with a nice stream of income with little or no additional effort - no thats pretty valuable.

So for me - it all depends on what site we're talking about

Adsense rules. I wish I had thought of such an ingenious idea. If you are willing to put the time and effort into a high content, high traffic site, you will make boatloads of money with Adsense.

Possible that it may turn people off your site, if you are well established.. makes it look a bit more amatuerish / desparate for money. Could possibly get more from targetted advertiers and individual deals specific to your area. I can think of a few reasons NOT to have it.
