Why don't you use good Adsense to make profit from your cooking site? That's the only solution I have for your cooking website. :) Hope it helped you.

Any site can make money with enough visitors. Is "cooking" is something you have a passion for and have the drive to keep working at, or is it a site that you want just to put and make some money? If it isn't a passion, you could probably find a lot of other niches that would be off suited to working on. A general cooking site is going to face stiff competition and require years of work. 5 months isn't long in terms of developing a great site.

Establish a list of keywords that best describe your concept and which you want to rank for. Then look at the top ten sites already ranking. Is your site better than the top ranking sites? Do you offer something different? Are you willing to put the work in to make your site better than the rest? General cooking is a concept that might be too big for you - perhaps a more focused niche within cooking would be better. Too many people make the mistake of trying to tackle too large of a niche. i.e. a site that offers advice for people with allergies to certain types of foods would be a lot easier to rank for.

As a general rule, you should be prepared to put in a year of development before you see any type of good return. It might happen sooner, but don't expect it.
