I would suggest to look at the market share of search engines .. msn is way too low .. ie doesn't have much traffic so not worth the effort imho
Of course it is worth it. Almost any source of steady, quality traffic is worthwhile. Sure it makes more sense to target Google more, but you shouldn't ignore msn. The low traffic that people claim msn has is still far, far more than any of your websites will ever get. Multiply their market share by the approximate number of people searching the web every day. The number wouldn't look so low anymore.
if it can help bring in people, why not? many webmasters don't pay attention to any search engine except from Google. i believe it to be wrong. i've got a site about Mauritius that gets only about 40% of it's traffic from google and the rest is spread between yahoo, live, msn and a couple of smaller ones. the page has PR3
As long as you can get traffic from it, then why not? I understand why many focus on Google, but that still doesn't mean MSN and Yahoo! are worthless
I know there are lots of different factors and plenty of conjecture about what helps a site to rank but I have noticed that an exact key-phrase as the domain is an element that MSN really seems to like. I have also found it to be very useful with Google as well. So if it's possible at the start of a project then it might be a good idea to consider that.
This depends on niche and targeted traffic . Like Google is globally used but their are few browsers and search option which commonly used is specific countries . Like to increase our Alexa rankings we target USA and UK webmasters like this msn must also be region based .
Put yourself in the shoes of a normal internet surfer. Say your niche is about "Business Excellence". Which search engine would you use to search more info about this subject. Of course, google . I usually follow this rule: Optimize my website for Google, it is automatically optimized for other search Engines....
A site has good content, I believe whether or msn google ranking will be higher, not too concerned aboutï¼
The road to the top 10 of Google will often lead to top rankings in MSN as well. The notion that you optimize for a specific search engine is silly.
Google is the king to send traffic, but MSN can send a drivel here and there. If you optimize for google, MSN is sure to follow.
it depends first to your client if it wants you to make their site rank. next is the niche and your keywords selected and finally the competition
We should also optimize website for yahoo and msn. Most of the people depends on only google for the traffic. But its hard to get rank in all the main search engines. If one of the page is top in yahoo then its not necessary that you will get high rank in google and msn too. All are using different algos. But we do hard work to generate traffic from all sides.
