I have this fashion, celebrity beauty and am struggling on what to do with it. It started as a hobby site and i am getting over 2000 uniques daily and am not sure if its worth to do seo on a blogger site.The site has over 500 post and over 30 000 backlinks with PR5 and it gets indexed very well by google and does well in serps too. i kind of ignored the site for 6months then in November I redirected it to a proper domain and I lost all the traffic and i decided to switch back to blogger. When i reverted back i was getting around 200 uniques a day thats on the 7th of dec and now I am getting over 2000 so as i am posting the traffic seems to be going up. Reason i ask since blogspot is owned by google is it worth for me doing seo so i can push some affiliate stuff on there. At the moment I have some affiliate links on the site and wanted to make the blog more specific so wondered if i should do link building on a blogspot. Part of me thinks i should since it does well in serps and i could make a bit thru affiliate links then part of me tells me i wont be the owner so what the point since it takes time and a effort building backlinks. i have my own domain similar but it doesnt do well like this site.
It is definitely worth doing seo for any blog regardless of where it is hosted. You will still get an increase in traffic and affiliate revenue. It doesn't really matter that Google is hosting it. It is unlikely that they will just take the blog down one day.
I second this. Traffic is traffic, and isn't that really the whole point, at the end of the day? Well done on building a successful site.
yes you can do seo for a blogger blog. there is nothing wrong with that. however, if you make a new blog in the future i advise to buy hosting and a domain name.
You could most probably increase it quite a bit if you got 2.000 without any marketing/seo. Go for it and good luck.
Yep, just as Giamatti mentioned, use a normal web hosting service to start your blog up next time. But, you can still generate traffic to blogging services sites. And, traffic is what makes the money, it's not who you're hosted with necessarily. It's just you have more options available when you take the web hosting route.
Oh yep i have other sites that I self host including a sister site to the blogspot one but it doesnt do that well in search engines. You have given reassured me so I will go on and seo it. Many thanks
I think its worth doing SEO on blogspot for sure! You already have an upper hand with help from blogspot, and then some SEO work is bound to go a long way.
google straight says" if a website do not have back links it means that i do not have any support"............thus to have your blog higher you need to get some links to it and need to do SEO.........you are lucky that you are getting visits to your website without SEO but still you need to follow SEO...........
