Is it worth changing signature links?

    Just a thought....

With the four links in the bottom of each of our posts...

Is it worth rotating these around, maintaining the same links all the time or swapping between 3-4 different keywords for each site?

I've always gone with keeping the same link and link text, but is that the best thing to do?

From Google's point of view that's probably won't make much difference.

All of your signature links are not going to make that dramatic of a difference because they are all coming from the same source. Google knows every link is coming from the same source so your link juice is diluted.

I fully agree with this. More link juice is passed on from a web site when a link is particularly harder to get.

It's usually putting your links here will help index your site..

I think age plays a part in how valuable a link is, so I would keep the same signature links.

But I don't know if changing anchor text but keeping the same URL would make the link get treated as a brand new link or not...

If you want, you can rotate anchor text and link pages for deep linking, for instance if you are having trouble getting a part of your site indexed point your signature to it , there are no hard and fast rules , you teach the search robots what to do , not other way around

I usually change my sig to target some KWs coz that way, I'm certain that it can give them a lil push on SERPs

What can you say about the forum signature with same URL but different anchor text? Are they both counted as backlinks or just one of them?

You're not going to experience much link juice anyway until you are in the area of 5000 links. From what I have seen and read anyway. Don't look into sig links in too much detail, just take them for what they are and accept they bring minimal PR and juice.

How do you add live links to your signature? When I click on the User CP heading and then click on edit signature all that comes up is rules on live links and signatures, but it doesn't give me an opportunity to add my live links?

I don't think rotating links in your signature will make any deference for Google.

i have swapped my link text around on other sites and it has improved those key words. If your signature stays the same in your old post then it should help.
