When it expires isn't the domain in idle for 60days?

So that means after 60 days one can buy it, will it still have some traffic.
    ur experiences please.

You never know. If it has good type-in traffic... Shouldn't be a problem.

I picked up an expired domain with 7500 backlinks.

It was previously a dutch website selling educational toys. url is generic

so I put an arcade script on figuring i could piggy back the traffic

and yes i have so far :)

It was PR=7 but that has gone :(

It really depends on how well the site is doing before the owner leave it. You should investigatye first before buying expired domain. I'm not thinking of buying expired domain instead I will go for a new one.

If it has good backlinks, then probably. There are a lot of factors, including price, etc.

    same with sedo.

i like all those xmdsfjsasds (dot) com domains at tdnam that show 1000+ visitors a month, with no backlinks and no pages indexed in google.

like anything else, one must do their research and even then there is a slight gamble. it's better to buy from a trusted private individual after reviewing the log files.

Well, while the domain is expired thats mean the owner didnt renew it,and that means that it wasnt profitable!

I am a domain trader and think the same, i wouldnt renew tons of domains if they have no traffic or importance, but i would be stupid to not renew my domains wich i worked hard with back links and have PR on google!

But sometimes i let domains with traffic expire but fake traffic wich soon will finish.

If you go to Dopedomains.com you can see/search/sort the tdnam sites with traffic, #of yahoo backlinks (and a click link to see where they are from), PR (and if it is verified or not), etc..

I put the site together because I was tired of hunting down all the data on each domain I was interested in.

It doesn't works that way. There are some sites that hasn't been renewed simply because the owner has bought a new domain for his site and the visitors who visited the site frequently will then see your site in replace of the old one and thus you can capitalize on expired traffic.

There are a number of reasons why domains expire, and what you mention is one of them. Even then, define what is profitable. If an expired domain makes $1 a month from parking, that is profitable. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Many domains drop simply because the owner has lost interest in the domain or they forgot to renew it. Some auction off their domains and inflate traffic, which is something to be careful of. Other domains have dropped and continue to receive traffic from a previously paid advertising campaign, which also temporarily inflates traffic.

The better domains never make it to an available drop list. They are auctioned off before they complete the drop process.

Yes i know all of this! I have a host company and i started with traffic exchanges 5 years ago, now i sell domains with content on sedo.

What i wanted to is that i purchased alot of expired domains, but all of them were useless, today i also bought 2 expired domains at godady auction, it was mention that they are PR5 ,I won! but after that i made some reseaches and found that they were redirected to some other sites with PR5.

Now i will wait to be transfered to my account, then i will build a content to see what traffic i will receive.
