I was wondering if it is worth spending the time backlinking to PR0 dofollow sites. Is it posible you could be penilised by google or could it actually lower your own sites PR?
yes. you could actually be PENILISED. One day a van with a Google logo o the side will park in front of your house and a few geeks will come out waking google-branded baseball bats. After vandalizing your front garden they'll come for you and PENILISE you with Google branded scissors, emasculating and replacing your peewee with a google branded straw. yeah a pr0 website is not the best option if you're looking for links but it depends on your PR. You should always get links from websites with a PR higher than yours.
Well yes, the page rank of the sites which link to you does matter, but this does not mean that PR0 sites are not valid or anything, I own a blogging tips site and most of the links to my site comes from sites with PR1 and PR0, but still I rank well on search engines.
we all started once years ago with PR0 ... may be some of the PR0 directories are young and just need some more time to get higher PR - so YES to use PR0 but only fast loading well maintained sites that may have a chance to survive all crisis and be one day a "grown up" directory I do use them but only for a small % of directory entries and only if either a good niche directory EXACTLY matching language and category or i have no more higher PR dirs to submit to
thanks to all.I did not have that idea.I use to suppose that pr0 sites are not good enough to build backlinks as it I never paid attention to them.but I shall
Do you mean "getting backlinks from PR0 dofollow sites" Because "backlinking to PR0 dofollow sites" doesn't make any sense, unless you are trying to build links to someone else's sites. If are you asking the former, then yes, it can be worht the time to get a backlink from a pr0 do follow site. But you need to ask these questions. - Does the page/site have alot of traffic? ---- If so, how visable is your link? - Does the homepage of the page you're getting a link from have PR? ---- If so, how many click away from the homepage is the page your link would be on?
I think it's relevant if it's a related niche. Prob not worth a lot of time doing it, but if you have a few it won't hurt you. You never know when that site will go up in PR.
