The higher paying ads will appear in the first ad block, so if you place less units, then there's more chance that a high paying ad will be clicked. However, if your overall niche is a low paying niche, then it doesnt matter

Use three ad blocks on your website to generate maximum revenue.

    1. In between the content.
    2. After the content
    3. Right Hand side

Go to Google and search for "Where should I place Google ads on my pages?"

You will get the Adsense help desk link for placing ads in the site and also for blending the ads color with your site.

Ads placement is very important for increasing revenue from Adsense.

I agree 3 blocks is the best. Don't put more than 3 on a page because it's against google's tos. Also make sure you have a privacy policy on your page about google adsense or you can get banned and not paid.

You will have to answer this question yourself. Do some research and see the results for yourself. If low CPC is a problem, then having one unit is the best, as the CPC decreases with subsequent ad units. However, if you are more worried about CTR, you might consider having more ad units. There is no magic formula really, I think you should try it out yourself and keep a close tab on the clicks. Hope that helps
