if you are comparing windows and linux then you need to focus on some points like user Interface, security, easier to use, more compatible software and lot, and you will found windows is lot better in many aspects
That is separate from the operating system but, from the video, people can't tell the difference! So it's a draw. All of *nix wins hands down. Yes. Windows was made for amateurs. Linux is for professionals. Compatible with what? Windows? Windows has very little software that's compatible with LInux so Windows loses. Linux has a lot of software that works on Windows. LInux wins! Apparently not!
Linux in its entirety cannot actually be compared to a specific operating system like Windows 7 ... what distribution of Linux is more accurate, at least by a little bit... but I wont fight semantics. It does make me laugh when I read it, though. I prefer Ubuntu (particularly 10.04) to Windows 7, any day. All the games that I play are supported through wine. All the software I need is readily available (for free). The list could easily go on. However, @Sano. Way to Necrobump a thread from Feb '09.
Haha, and they still didn't reveal to the people it was linux. Quite funny, time to go back to work now.
Linux is the operating system. Any variations, such as Ubuntu, RedHat, etc., are add-on programs to core Linux. Linux, the OS, is the same everywhere. It's amazing how many people pull these things up like that.
linux is not only for experts, any one can use it. There are some nice distributions for newbie like Ubuntu, fedora
its linux no doubt. there are lots of software available in linux than in windows actually and that made linux very sophisticated and cooler than mac or windows. KDE is a desktop environment and differs from an OS itself such as Windows7.
It doesn't even look like Windows 7. Actually, I use Windows 7 myself, and maybe those who don't use it, (like in the video) thinks it's Windows 7, from their hearings about the Microsoft system.
I like both, why..I'm using linux Ubuntu..all these while for internet surf I just feel more secure and some programming. Window 7 for entertainment, games, editing and etc..
I would use Ubuntu anytime. It is just so great. Windows 7 is also good but after all it all depends what you used first and if you are used to play around with Ubuntu and you like it I think it is great. Why not use somthing that a fewer majority of people use.
