is it well to forbid duplicate articles in my article directory?

List the article once, but I would ensure it has original authors name on it.

 

Duplicates are always bad.

 

i do believe this is correct.

google doesn't penalize the NYT and the SF chronicle and 2,400 other newspapers for printing the same reuters or AP story, happens a million times a day. the search engines filter results or should be filtering duplicate articles/content - i would expect that either the first one indexed or else the one in the stronger/est article directory would show up in general search results. sounds too that if you are going to be checking every article submitted to make sure it isn't somewhere else you'll be using up a lot of your personal time....but article directory owners would know better than i....

 

At the beginning I allowed duplicated entries in my engine, but now I have changed it so that no duplicates will be accepted.

It just looks like spam when a visitor searches for something and results from the same registered customer are the same. Or even when you click view all updates for a particular user and see all the updates the same.

 

The process will be fully automated.
