Hi, I am a newbee with Adsense. I wanted to start a Web Directory and wanted to know something about the Ad placement. I have seen many directories have placed their Google ads just between the areas where a user usually clicks like between "accepting policy" button and "Submit" button and most of the time user clicks on the ads by mistake, which I think will increase the CTR and the income of that person. So is it illegal or somehow against any kind of policy of Google Adsense?
I don't think so that it's illegal to do that. I think it's a legal way to increase your CRT. But you send email to adsense staff for further confirmation. They normally reply within one or two business days.
According to the ToS, you're not allowed to trick visitors into clicking your ads when they think they are actually clicking something else.
Well they are not forcefully making the users to click on the ads, they juct keep the ads so close near clickable area that like 4%-10% click on the ads by mistake. So I hope it's not illegal.
Unless and until the ads are clearly visible with "Google Ads" at the end of the ad, there shouldn't be any problem.
According to TOS of adsense you can't place ads very close to buttons and other clickable area. It creats a misunderstanding in readers.
Hi rajx22, I cannot find anything like this can you please provide me the link of that page where they have stated this policy.
