Is it unprofessional to use a Google Talk widget on a marketing blog?

    No, it's not. Many internet marketers get this part wrong, thinking that they should have no personality. That sucks! The most successful marketers have lots of personality, and blogs are supposed to be fun. You can still be professional and be unique, that's the kind of stuff that goes viral nowadays.     Okay. The bad part is that http://www.google.com/talk/service/badge/New no longer works... Its got a bug... when we send a message its duplicating the message...

    I will give my 2c personally Ido not care what chat program a site uses the thing that is the biggest concern for me is that if you have it there you or someone else is available, i.e. a massive gripe of mine is when a site has a button or even worse a popup that says chat with us now...

    Only to find that when you click on it you get a sorry no one is available at this time message. Not as relevant in the case of what you are dong but I guess to cut my long winded answer down... I say go for it.

    Our WordPress uses Zopim plugin and I think we are doing ok. Our business is doing good.
