Well, if you read seoMoz predictions for 2011, it is that google will "admit" that CTR on organic searches matters in the ranking. It would make sense for me at least. If you think about adwords this is absolutly largest factor in your quality score.

I think there is no question that unique clicks are measured and that the total number of clicks is one of the 200+ factors that are calculated. The bigger question is how much weight is assigned to the click factor.

Either way, it is one reason to be sure that your page title and description will attract searchers. But be careful. If you overdo it, it can look like spam and then searchers would *not* click.

If it was that important third world SEOs would be clicking on links all day and not spamming us. So yeah, sure, it is a ranking factor! Go click on links and get off of your blogs and forums with your spam :D

if all these is true, then.... if you use tool/or manually check your SERP all the time, might lower your ranking.

No, it doesn't matter. It only increase the rank to the person who clicks because google apparently use personalisation thing. So basically if you like to visit wikipedia then your search results will more likely to be wikipedia in the first page. I personally don't like and disagree with this because the search result would be highly irrelevant. I don't know what google has in mind. Probably I need to jump to google forum and say my opinion there.

It might be a factor, but Google will not disclose it else, everyone start clicking their links. Google might be using it to check the site popularity, but in last it is relevancy of site for a keyword that really matter. I will never go for this, if you can rank your site then naturally you will get lots of click from different Ip and it can increase your popularity.
