I have heard about the people who linking to some authoritative sites according to the story they have written and found search engines do favor on that page. I do believe in this theory as it could gives benefits to reader. However, I am not sure if it is still true or not. Do anyone here has this exact similar experiences? Please share
I have never seen any evidence of this. Also I think it slightly turns the algorithm on it's head. The standard theory is getting link from other sites can make your sites more trusted. If you start saying that linking to the sites give you trust give you trust then you need to establish thoose site first. If your trying to work out trust in both directions the formular gets really confused.
I still don't have enough prove to backup the claim as there are too many variables involved around. However, common sense would say if you are providing extra and something beneficial to your readers, then your page should be looked upon as more important.
I am not sure about it. Logically speaking it may prove an advantage. I think it will suit the theme of your page better. Linking to an authoritative article on your niche
I can state as a fact that done naturally, and not excessively, it definitely doesnt hurt you, and would speculate that it probably helps. we link to Google and wiki on most pages of the main site. and check these http://www.google.com/search?q=search+engine+optimization+facts&pws=0&hl=en&num=10 http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=seo&hl=en&lr=&cr=countryUS&start=0&sa=N the second one isnt correct unfortunately, its some dodgy combination of search strings promoting us, but the point is we link out to authority sites from everywhere including the index page.
