Prostitution isn't illegal in India but cops are known to harass those having a good time with the "immoral trafficking act", even when it is completely consensual. In fact, in many motels in cities like Mumbai, people are threatened with the same law when there's no prostitution even involved. The effect of the repressed "culture" prevalent in India. I don't know about nudity in the medical profession or "family life" but other than that I sure hope what the OP said is true; regulation of personal & consensual activity is not a good thing.

 

That's nothing, western decadence can get much worse. Are you ready? Depending on where it hurts, the doctor may even TOUCH you testicles and probe your anus with a finger. Unbelievable.

In a nutshell - America is a free nation. People are not fettered with stupid notions of morality when it comes to basic needs like sex. Whereas in countries like India (and don't even get me started on Pakistan), sex is still considered a big deal and it is not available for most people unless they are married. It is sad, it is pathetic. But then, it will take quite some time for these people to change.

Not true, just a widely believed myth. Only trafficking ("pimping") is a crime. A voluntary transaction involving 2 consenting adults without any third party profiting is completely legal.

Have you ever tried doing that? And FYI, most of the policemen in India don't know the law that you're talking about. They just know one thing - if two people are having sex, catch them and harass them. As simple as that.

USA is a free country (free thinking for sexual relationship beside marriage. And almost everything is openly allowed. Like gay lesbian sex group sex etc. Some state might have different picture. Like there might be some state where gambling is illegal. But that is some state. Not What the totality is. I even heard there are nude shows and clubs there in USA that openly sell tickets to watch them to above 18. Even 5 years back a report in BBC came that USA kids are becoming spoiled by this Free sex movement)

Other countries simply not. Many countries like Iran and such. Even totally ban and filter Internet pornography. On the other hand USA may have filtered in School (lower then 18). Can you belive a country people above 18 cant view porn or adult???

Immediately, the poster, based on his nationality, would have been branded a racist and would have gotten a plethora of negative reps. How come it's different now?

It does not go 'ignored' there are prostitution stings going on all the time in the US, two states that I know of off hand prostitution is legal 'in limited circumstances, well regulated'.

There is not a national law 'from what I know' it is left up to the states to decide, by far and large in the US it is not legal, nor is it ignored.

Not a loophole. It's unfortunate, as contentedge said that many of the cops on streets themselves are ignorant about the law. But this statement has been backed by A. N Roy, commissioner of police of Mumbai that prostitution by itself isn't illegal in the city (and country) and that the police are only able to act against pimps.

 

I gave him a - rep once I realized his intention and the agenda he was pushing with this thread. There are quite a few people on this forum who like to pretend to be interested in learning and use their feigned ignorance to insult.
