Is it true that Google has finally banned Angela's & Paul's links?

    Nobody knows, never heard about that; what I can tell is that sometime the site/blog owner like to write something that are really controversy just to draw attention

    there are hundreds of thousands of web 2.0 sites and it would be impossible for google to ban backlinks from such sites. besides, google cannot just "ban" a specific link building method, they can devalue it or not put much weight to that (there wasnt much weight to such backlinks to begin with as they are just empty profile pages with couple of links on them and in 99.9% of the cases they never get indexed unless you go and get them indexed yourself). if you need good result form your link building campaign, then build quality links

    I agree with you. Google always follow systematic values when we talk about SEO strategies. They can evaluate the legitimacy of stratigraphy and then assign them weight-age.
