is it true that google had changed their algo and that backlinks aren't important anymore?
i kinda worry about this and since i bought some links lately.

as human beings can't be stable without taking food in account,google's algo also can't be stable without taking backlinks into account.

No, Backlinks is very important for page rank, so google count backlinks surely.

backlinks have been and still is a crucial element of google algo. if google doesn;t consider backlinks as a ranking criteria anymore, then based on what factors they are ranking the sites?

google works hard to make sure they discount backlinks that are acquired in a spammy or shady way but they still count backlinks. only difference is that before number of backlinks would get your site ranked high. now just the number of backlinks dont cut it anymore, its both the quality and quantity of links that matter. your links have to have some merit for you to get some benefit out of it. things are getting harder but backlinks still count and if you know how to get quality backlinks, you still rule the game

 

I dont believe that Google have changed much, however when it comes to external links, there are specific points that you can get from Matt Cutts's blog in regards to the no follow attribute and PR juice, if that is what you mean?

Google will consider backlinks less important as soon as the Google bot can determine the quality of content.
