For many months now, with my main blog for example, I have been submitting nearly 50 articles now to ezinearticles with the same anchor text, BLUE JEANS, used for the main blog url.

Perhaps this is why I haven't seen any positive results as far as back link building is concerned.

If I go over these articles at ezinearticles and edit them, change and vary on the anchor texts, will it finally yield backlink benefits? Please, what could be the percentage of the variation on the anchor texts that I should use (for 50 articles) for my main blog? How many variety of anchor texts must I use, apart from the main one, Blue Jeans?

Or shall I just start on new articles and do the proper way as far as use of anchor texts is concerned? Please help.

Yes, it is true that varying the anchor text will help rankings. Infact not varying anchors can cause your site to be blacklisted as your links look automatically generated.

SultanOfSEO gave you great advice. Yes vary your link text. Yes link to two different pages (typically your post and your home page) from the resource box.

It doesn't look natural for your URL to have all of its inbound links with the exact same link text. Plus by varying it you get the added benefit of possibly ranking for lots of slight variations of the keyword phrase that you had not specifically planned on targeting.
