Hi - I've been reliably informed that multiple links in a page linking to the same URL are all ignored by Google except for the first in the source order. So if I were to use the phrase 'website designer' as anchor text linking to a particular URL high in a page and then further into the copy I use the phrase 'flash design' linking to the same destination, only the first link is considered by Google - and the words 'flash design' would in no way be associated with the destination URL. This kind of makes sense to me - but has some significant implications - particularly with regard to internal site links and the source ordering of pages. Any thoughts and feedback greatly appreciated -
It would make sense to aim the second or third link to a deeper page within the same domain, which is counted as a separate page, so there will be no issue, also it looks more natural and is better for your site.
Google will consider every link on a page. But if you have 10 links to the about page, G will consider only the first one not all 10. But if you have 10 links on the page and everyone goes to a different URL, the G will consider all 10 of them.
this is probably the definitive discussion on this topic http://www.seo-scientist.com/first-link-counted-rebunked.html
There will always be conflicting views but anyway, there's no harm in doing what you do right now. I'm also in the same boat whereby I also create multiple links (but only 2 maximum) in a page and point it to the same url using different anchor text.
This issue has been disvcussed yes it is true that google considers on the first link. its upto to you you have to keep 1 or 10
