No its not true.. they made a bit of a gaff with their T's & C's, and have since changed them.

Have a look here on the official google blog for more info.

No idea.. I doubt they'd do that. Why would they be interested in our passwords?

This browser is a prime example of google finding more ways to increase their search data. Too many cons vs. pros to reconsider it vs. firefox 3.

Google Chrome is all about collecting data. Google is all about collecting data and using it to further their advertising network. Which is what google really is anyway, an advertising network that has a search engine and other products they use to collect data.

Look in the tools area of the browser, you can choose whether you let Google know about your browsing info etc. Stops Google getting any information from you if you don't want. They don't want your passwords. :)

Actually, yes! Google is very much watchful. Google is always interested in what you are doing with your PC. When you make a simple search, all of your details are stored in the Google database. Right from your IP address to the Screen color depth.

As far as chrome is concerned, I'm not quite sure how far it can invade your privacy... buy yes if you are exchanging data over an unsecured channel (w/o SSL), your information could be read out.

Nope. Google Chrome only sends alerts out to Google if you choose to let it to. (Sending log data, etc, when you crash, you can choose to report things like this.)

No one knows, but one thing for sure is that, each installation has a unique identification number (ID) tagged to your system. Hence, if there is a need to identify the users, it is possible for Google to do so. In order to avoid doing that, there is an application, UnChrome, to remove the identity.

Furthermore, you'll notice a speed improvement in Google Chrome after having the ID removed.

Google chrome sends every single activity to google servers. Google says it is only to improve their search engine. But you can deactivate it in the settings.

I believe it will be ok if Google pays the internet users and get the private information to make a better search engine. Because Google would never do that, I decided to uninstall my Google chrome because I am happy with my IE and Firefox.
