We are all scrabbling to get more links for this PR update and I’m aware that we should continue to gather links, but is it too late for this PR update? I have heard that it can take days, weeks and even months before they are picked up and counted. But every time we get closer to the PR update the prices go down and it just becomes to tempting to pass up some great deals. If you check out the link thread it’s become a feeding frenzy.
Wait 'til you see what it's like after a pr update, with about a zillion people trying to sell their links! From what I've seen google normally displays pr from 5 or 6 weeks before the toolbar update; so i guess that if google doesn't update pr for another month or so then you'lll see a rise in pr on the toolbar. But don't forget that PR is 'live', so for SEO purposes the more links that you can get from related pages the better, and you should work to get these all the time, and by lots of methods.
I agree that it is too late now to get in the upcoming Toolbar PR update.. However, if we do not build our links now, we might even miss the next one that follows... Therefore, always build / bait links continuously
PR hasn't changed, at least via the Google toolbar. I am in agreement that there have been some strong changes with SERPS. Linking strategies is a constant thing, something that should be done continuously.
It depends on how often the site where you are going to get a link from is crawled by Google. If it's a PR6 link and above then it's probably not too late. Also, if the site have submitted a sitemap that requests for their website to be crawled every day, then again it's probably not too late. If on the other hand the site in question doesn't meet one of these criteria then it's probably too late for the coming PR update - assuming it happens in January.
You wont even know the answer to this question, With G the upadate can be day after or after 6 months no one will ever know when. So better start getting the links they will eventually help you out for sure .
I'd say yes for this update assuming that it is due any moment now But building links is a long term process and will continue to help in SERPS. So continue building
Again, while it depends on when the next PR update is (it has not started yet), if you were to base that on say, knowing there would be one next Friday, you'd still be wrong. Well, probably wrong anyways. As Deano said, the PR update is an older snapshot, although iirc it is usually more on the order of 2-4 weeks old, not 6. It might actually vary that much, but the few I've actually bothered to pinpoint the date on were closer to the export itself. -Michael Edit: Woot! My 666th post!
No, it is no late, PR update doesn't started yet, and nobody can say when it will happend. So, start it
It's never to late nor to earlier to build up links. Block out the PR and just build up your links. Don't even pay attention to the PR and the prize will follow.
You'll never know if it's too late. Just do your best to build your links in anticipation of the update.
I believe you are to late for this one... but am not positive as some have said that they built thier site 1 month prior and got a PR so.... Wait till the PR update comes and look at the google DP thread count it will blow your mind when you see 2000 + viewing 1 thread.... INSANE Just look at the thread views for the person who "claimed" that the PR had been updated and quadruple that. thx malcolm
you mean here at DP? I would love to get more INbound link too.. but considering for this update, I dont think it will reflect inside the update. It's good deal for the next next google update. Cheers -toby
Serps have truely been acting real nuts lately. Databases been having different results etc. I've been moved from #4 to no results at all and the finally to #1 lol.
Continue your link building. So what if you're late. But you can be sure that next PR update you will get the PR you're dreaming of. Yes, you're right prices are becoming lower these days. But what I can advice you is try to check the backlinks of the site to know if the links are worth of your money.
