I have seen domains containing "free" sold for up to six figures, $xxx, xxx.

I am thinking of domains containing "for Free" .

    e.g. .......forfree.com

What do you think of such domains?

"for free" keyword comes up with more than 230 million search results in google search.

    Here is google search.

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q="for+free"&meta=

Please vote for the domains containing "for free".

    thanks

They can be quite eye catching, but in my experience I am turned off by them because when I see something, for example ps3forfree or something, I know it's just going to be one of those "participation" schemes where you have to sign up to loads of insurance offers and all that honky tonk.

it's too big in my opinion. if i were to buy a domain like that: i'd choose [domain]4free instead of [domain]forfree.

Also some sites that choose a domain with the word free in it can sometimes change their mind and offer nothing free after a while.

Ive come across web directories that have free in the domain, but they now longer offer free listings so its confusing the visitors/submitters.

I think for free could be too general that the amount of domains that you could potentially register with the words could take some of the value away.

That is true. They include free to attract others. But domains with the word "free" sell very well up to six figure xxx, xxx. Many key words with "for free" have been taken away. You may check it yourself.

Do you have any links to past sales of domains including "for free" to take a look at?
