Is it the right time to buy an lcd monitor?

    Ive heard they are not good for designing. Ive also noticed when i went to a computer store, the text appears to be distorted and when i open an image file, the difference between an lcd and crt is just too obvious. Are there lcd monitors that are as good as crts. Im planning to buy this Christmas..

    Maybe there is some difference in color gamma, but for the web I think it is not that important. I use LCD for a year already creating different graphic stuff: 16x16 icons, banners, website mockups, etc. I like working with LCD.

    I think that LCD monitors are getting better nowadays. I have been using one and I am quite satisfied with its performance.

    If you wanna buy a LCD, try to get one with TFT.
    But, it's Plasma so expensive, that you are thinking to buy a LCD?
