How is this easy to manipulate?

You'd need a hell of a lot of computers and gmail accounts to "manipulate" definitely not as easy as scraping links together, no?

haha ok sorry, i was thinking that you were serious about that.

Yes, if this stuff worked, it could be easy to manipulate it, here at digitalpoint there are people that could make 100 thumbs-up for 10$ in the services section.

If SEO is to end I'd be out of a job and probably on the streets so I hope not.

you guys misunderstood this system, this is basically your own personal seo. For example, say on a forum there are stickied threads in this case sites with high PR, with this system you can put your own personal sticky on google so that you will see similar pages "higher rank". there is no way google will allow this to actually alter pr and seo. think about what a blackhat can do, have a list of proxies and a list of google accounts and they have traffic. (btw there is a gmail account creation bot that's actually famous so they can do this)

Here is proof for my statement:

This is my forum listing on google without any account signed in, rank 8

    http://i41.tinypic.com/16lio9s.jpg

Now signed into a google account and my website is rank 1

    Case closed!

It's just one of the new features introduced under the name "SearchWiki". Type in the keyword and you will find further info to this.

That is exactly what it is. It's brilliant from the Google perspective, engaging Google searchers more.

    SEO Question for 2009

Do you think Google takes note of website's that keep getting bounced to the bottom by users?

This can have some effect on the SEO but I am sure someone would be able to find a workaround for this. ;)

But the question is that cant this be abusive for those who are using blackhat? I mean, they might use it to rank well on their respective KW.
