Adding yourself to Yahoo for this amount is a load of crap. You're better off adding yourself to directories.

Hate to say it, but speaking from experience it does make a difference with your Yahoo rankings. I had an ecommerce site at one point before I got sick, and within a matter of weeks of purchasing my listing all of my product category pages (and many individual product pages) shot up and started doing well with our target keywords. The following year I didn't renew it thinking that maybe I didn't need to, and later saw shiftings in the rankings. They returned to normal a week or two after I renewed it.

I don't know how much "weight" those links carry - or if it's just because Yahoo gives sites who spend that much more credence because they believe that they're "serious" sites. I agree with what another poster here said - you'll never see people finding you from the listing. But my experience definitely made me believe that it comes into play somehow. However, my advice to you is that if you're not already making a lot of money that's a large sum to pay to gamble if you're only making a few bucks here and there.

So those are my two cents - take it for what it's worth

Try to use your money on the other thing that can help your site. Don't just stick to yahoo listing.

It depends on what your budget is. $300 isn't really that much when you consider it is only $25 a month.

It's true that you aren't going to get much if any traffic from a listing on Yahoo directory. However the backlink is valuable and can help with your organic rankings.

I used that service about 2 years ago, results are satisfactory but not so much increased traffic. Not sure the price for now.

There are free ways to list your site. You can look up on Google: "8 Ways to Submit Your Site to Yahoo"

Ummm... as another poster commented, YAHOO is discontinuing that mess at the end of the month people so the debate over this is over. It's an old business model that is not effective and as of Jan 1, 2010 they won't even be using it or charging people anymore.

If you want to rank high for a long term then you should spend that amount once.

STOP! Don't pay $299.99 its dead, just do your website listing the manual way and buy yourself a pizza while your doing it. I'll spend $299.99 to make $29,999 on Affiliate Marketing.
