Should I pay the 299 to have my site listed in Yahoo?

And the money you pay out doesn`t guarantee a listing, only a site review and a listing if approved.

A couple of years ago, I listed one of my Blogs with Yahoo. I don't remember paying anything- but this was back in 2007.

I looked into it a few months ago but couldn't find how to do it. I am not sure what I did a couple of years ago. I know that is back when I was just starting out doing Internet Marketing so maybe it was another search engine I submitted it to?

That is so over priced and to me not worth it. I don't recall ever actually using it to find something. The only time I have ever really looked around it was to see what sites were being listed. If I want to find something then I just use google, yahoo, msn, etc. search.

If your site is new, young, or not getting the results you were hoping for you might take the 299 and pay someone to do some seo, backlinking, etc for you instead which would most likely benefit you more than 1 yahoo directory listing.

I think the money can be spent in the better ways these days. I bought it way back in 2005 and still have it today. If you do buy make sure you only pay once. Cancel it a month before the 1 year mark and it should stay up forever.

$299 may seem a lot to some but for businesses its really quite cheap and worth the money.

    Hell no.

Over time they will list you anyway. That's highway robbery, especially for a burnout search engine like Yahoo.

There is my radio station right there. I paid nothing.

If you're serious about your website than you should be listed in yahoo dir, business.com and botw directories. Otherwise you better spend the money on something else.

InsightReiki is referring to dir.yahoo.com not search.yahoo.com  :D Like many are saying it maybe worth spending the money on some SEO directory or link building organization, for it's better to get 500+ reasonable links than 1.

Submitting to the Yahoo Directory is only for marketers with a decent budget. However, there are many marketers out there who are extremely successful without using directory submission at all.

I personally believe that $299 is somewhat of a waste of money because you wont really get that much traffic from Yahoo directories. The only benefit that I can think of is that you get a link from a high ranked site and about a few clicks.
