Hello. I'm gay and would like to share my opinions. I'm not a girly-guy at all, and I don't ever want to be but I'm not saying that girly-guys are bad. I don't think it's shameful to live as a gay, but I think (in my opinion) it's really embarassing/shameful to act the opposite to your sex.

For example, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy = I cannot stand that show. Kthanks. I've seen a lot of "girly-guys" shopping around the malls and it just upsets me how they leave a bad impression for homosexuals since they represent, well, gay men. And that's the reason why I hate (most) gay men. Please change. lol.

And gay parents should live their lives normally like every other person. That's all I have to say on this.

No it is not shameful to live as a Gay/Lesbian infact you should be proud that you are strong enoungh not to care what others think and to go with your feelings, you dont effect others by having such relationships so it is not something others should really have anything much to say about.

    Interesting :)

Well I don't think it would be a human rights violation if the person wanted the cure.Certainly to force a cure onto people in an attempt to wipe out this terrible disease :p, would be.But what I wonder is would people opt for a cure as an easier alternative to coming out to friends and family?

People should remain true to themselves, regardless of what society thinks. I know that can oftentimes be easier said than done. But to talk about homosexuality like it's a disease literally disgusts me. If someone ever actually thought about inventing a "cure" for it, I'd go ballistic.

SVZ, as far as your comment about curing homosexuality like being akin to abortion, I would have to disagree. But abortion is another separate, highly controversial topic so I will not discuss it further in this thread.

Anyway, there are a lot worse things in life than being gay. I wish people would just leave everyone alone, already.

Why? If there was some way for a person to alter their own sexuality, surely it is up to them and them alone. We've talked about it all one way so far but remember that these same hypothetical methods could possibly allow straight people to become gay.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to though.

It's akin, in my head when I wrote that comment, in that if you could find out your baby was gay and then give him the treatment. It's denying who that child is.

The problem with coming up for a drug treatment for homosexuality is...how do you prevent it from being abused? Who's to say the Christian right won't force people to take it? Or intimidate them? Or abuse them? It would have serious implication all around the world, the middle east especially.

I agree with you, SVZ. I feel strongly that religious groups would try to force the cure on homosexuals through the means you mentioned. I understand that it's a person's right to choose if a drug is ever invented to "cure" homosexuality, but at the same time I wonder if someone would choose to use the drug only for the simple fact they didn't want to be discriminated against in society.

I worry about things like this, because I've seen a lot of my close friends and relatives who are gay be abused, threatened, intimidated and otherwise demeaned by people who refuse to accept them for who they are. At the same time, I have to admire them for standing up for themselves and refusing to conform to what people think of as the "societal norm," instead remaining true to themselves and who they are. It takes a lot of guts, it really does, especially when there are people hell-bent on the idea that homosexuality is wrong.

Yup... you're right. It's up to everybody to accept other basic human right. Let us judge other not by the way they look or live but by their attitude and cooperation.

It's so true. It's careless, arrogant, rude, and mindless to be a gay couple and put your kid(s) through absolute hell while growing up in school (teasing). Also think, what does it do to the kid? They are growing up thinking it's normal not to deal with the opposite sex. And, they see their parents kissing... that's kind of disgusting.

Gayness is perfectly fine, nothin wrong with it. If that's how people want to live, all the best to them. Doesn't bother me one bit. What does bother me is gay couples adopting kids and putting them in these outcast environments.

I think that humans are just evolving, and their lifestyles are evolving as well. I don't think it matters what gender you are, you should be able to have any preference you want. It shouldn't be a right, it should just be human nature. I know I am going to get a lot of flac for this from the religious people, but people shouldn't base how they live their lives just because some book told them one way to do it. Books are guides; they can be adhered to or not, and no one should make somebody adhere to something they do not wish to believe in, no matter the book. I truly do not mean to offend anyone, but if I have please let me know and I will edit this post.

Superorb, I agree completely. What one person does with their life is THEIR business, nobody else's. Too many people try to dictate what we can and cannot do with our lives when it shouldn't be anyone's decision but our own.

That's such a ridiculous double standard, it's pathetic. I don't understand why so many males think that lesbians are hot, but gay male couples are disgusting. It's the same thing, guys.

Ok, I'll bet all of you that say that lesbians are hot are thinking of all the girls that are in the porn movies that are all hot. Would you still think lesbians were hot if they didn't look like they did in the porn movies? Those movies don't display a correct sampling of actual lesbians. They only display what guys WANT to see.

Well, the typical lesbians that I see look nothing like the ones in the movies. And if I'm not attracted to them alone, them being lesbians doesn't really "do it" for me unless I'm already attracted to them. I still don't think that anyone should have to hide who they are, though.

You men are disgusting. What a degrading, stereotypical thing to say. Lesbians are GAY; they're not going to suddenly see you and decide you're the hottest thing since Fabio and jump you. It just doesn't work that way.

If it's okay for women to be gay, it should be okay for males to be as well. Why does it seem like some men seem to be unable to think with their brains?
