A customer sent me a couple of hundred dollars paypal echeck a few days ago, and now paypal email me saying that the payment is cleared. Is echeck payment more safe or less safe than paypal funded by credit card or paypal fund? Can the customer later turn around and say this is not their fund?
No as they usually take a backup measure of payment (eg: credit card), when he wants to send a echeck. I use it sometimes when I need to buy something, and can't wait till the money gets transfered from my bank account. If paypal finds my account missing the money, they will draw it from the credit card.
It's less safe. 1-Because it will take upto 4 days to clear the funds from bank account(no money till 4 days) and if you send customers shipment at early and paypal founds no money at customer's bank account you'll loose what you sell and time... 2-Customer can add a VCC instead of real credit card. My advise is wait 3-4 days for echeck to be cleared then send what you sell to your customer.
I used to get the echeck canceled after it's clear. it sounds impossible, but it's true. The echeck is sent at december 07, and the charged back time is ending of Jan 08. 1 month, and 27$ is charged back from me. that suk, I have left Feedback on Ebay already. So i lost my item and the chance to report fraud buyer to others.
