I don't quite understand the way to do keywords search. I just use this method: search a keyword from google, if it has little result it shows that it has little complete. I will confirm this as my keyword, is it right?

If it has little competition, it's probably because hardly anyone ever searches for it. That's why you need to use tools that tell you average monthly search volume, and trends in search volume. What you don't want to do is waste your time and money optimising for a keyword that only gets searched for 10 times a month.

You can do that but there's still a lot of other factors to consider if you want to rank high on the search engine and dominate its first page.

I have a question. After reading this post and everything else I have come across. I never see the complete task in action. Always just bits a pieces.

Choosing a keyword for a product can be somewhat tricky for me because I guess I'm doing this WRONG. At one time I thought my blog was new and things would change but still nothing.

I use google keyword tool as I have been told zillions of time. I find a exact match keyword (long tail) - with let say 200 - 700 searches a month. Then I move on over to google and check the competition by searching the keyword IN QUOTES for exact match page results ( I still do not know if that is the correct why to check competition?).

After all of that I end up with (on average) a long tail keyword that has approx 200-700 searches per month and anywhere from 50 to 5000 pages of competition. That is the way I was shown anyway.

Now I write a post and make sure I follow all the SEO rules. If I do not go back to the post to see if it is still there a few weeks later it will never be seen. That is how bad it is. In all reasonable terms, this looks as if it should work the way I 'm finding my keywords.

On the other hand I still can not see how using exact match searching helps when no one I know other then me uses exact match searching. The way I see it is the exact match search is a good check to find out only 50 or so pages are out there with the EXACT term, but with out the quotes the page count goes up to at least 100k.

I think I have made this so hard to figure out I never will. It can not be this hard to get to the top of google on the level i'm working at?

The most outrageous thing about all of this is that blog seems to be ok and my content seems to be good. I say my blog is good and content is good because when I create a post I can set my watch on google indexing the post. I have never made a post that took more then 32 minutes to resolve in a google search. Always number one USING QUOTES but never found otherwise.

So all I need to do is figure out why I get first place with quotes but nothing else other wise. This is bad.

Thanks for reading my crying but I'm stuck and do not know what to do...

If anyone can help me I would sure appreciate it tremendously...

Get realistic estimate of keyword popularity
    Don't Pick Single Word Phrases
    Evaluate the competition
Choose Specific but Not Popular Keywords
Constantly Change Your Keywords(Using variants of your main keywords

    Here's what I do:

Step 1: Insert the long tail keyword into Google ADWORDS Keyword Tool (make sure the Estimated Avg. CPC is activated)

Step 2: Check GLOBAL MONTHLY SEARCH VOLUME (in BROAD view). It it is between 3,500 - 4,000 move to next step

Step 3: Check ESTIMATED AVG. CPC, if keyword phrase is more than .85 cents, then move to next step (the higher the price, the more valuable the search term is)

Step 4: Go to Google.com, type in the keyword phrase and if the broad results come back with less than 1,000,000 (million) competitive pages, check the exact keyword match using quotes "", if the search comes back with less than 50,000 competitive pages, then move to next step

Step 5: I then go to WORDTRACKER FREE TOOL, type in the keyword phrase and check the daily search results. If my selected keyword phrase is getting more than 15 searches a day, then go to the next step

Step 6: I go to Go Daddy and check to see if the keyword phrase is available as a domain. If it is, I will buy it only in the .com, .net., or .org extension.

Step 7: I then create a website using wordpress and the keyword domain (along with other keywords that I reseached, etc.)

Step 8: You can just use these keywords to write articles, blogs, etc. You don't have to create a website but this is really the best way to research a keyword to make sure there is a market out there before you venture any further (and waste money and time)

There are programs out there that will do all this. Just do a search in google and you'll find all kinds of stuff, both free and paid versions

    Hope this helps....

Here are a couple of thoughts about keywords you may want to consider:
•Focus on keywords that will convert versus informational keywords. In other words, you want to target the words or phrases that are getting customers to buy, rather than those that are simply doing research.
•When doing your keyword research, don’t focus your efforts on keywords with high total searches per month. The majority of keywords with large searches per month aren’t necessarily buyers. Longer-tail keywords, or more specific phrases, often get less searches, but have higher conversions because the consumer tends to be looking for exactly what they are going to buy.

Try some of these other Google advanced operators. You can get a better picture of competition by using different query modifiers such as allintitle, inurl.
