Is it required to add sitemap in blog??

    I am unable to add xml sitemap in my blog. I am unable to do the step 'uploading xml code' into public html folder....as I didnt get public html folder in my blog site.... ..

    Can anyone pls tell me, where to find it or is it necessary to add sitemap in blog?
