some privacy software & anti spyware software such as spybot search and destroy blocks clickbank cookies.
Like this, there are a few situations where affiliate may feel that he is not getting credit for the sale.
CLickbank is already investigating such issues and trying to overcome all such problems.
Luckily, visitors with such software are very few and this is not a big problem for affiliates.

Some vendors, like myself, set up special systems on the sales page website to ensure that affiliates get their sale comissions. But if a user decides to clear his cookies, then there really isn't that much you can do. Fortunately, users dont do this often, and so affiliates get their comissions in the large majority of cases (probably more than 9 times out of 10).

Most internet users are not as net savvy so won't really do anything with their cookies.

If you are marketing to the Internet Marketing crowd then it might be an issue and that's why you see many big name marketers "entice" or "bribe" their prospects with bonuses and gifts to buy through their affiliate links. ;)

I actually think MOST affiliate programs do not track all sales and many go under the radar.
I feel this to be true and have read reports that as many as 25% of sales/leads go untracked for one reason or another.

I would like clickbank to improve their tracking, but I think it's decent right now. I believe I get paid for most of the sales that I make.

Even if you have spybot, it still tracks the cookies unless 1. The user clears their cookies/runs the program. 2. They immunize their computer. This does block it, but I doubt many people use this option.
