    Hi guys,

I'm planning to setup an article directory in the near future. Is it a profitable venture to go in? Yes, I know there is no such things as Magic Pills.... but how to immediately make money from article directory?

    Thanks

Iv found it to be profitable in the past....Anything can be profitable if you put in the hard work and know what to do.
Iv found that with article sites the best way to go about it is to write, or acquire, a custom script, or to modify one of the freely available ones to the extent that they no longer look anything like the original one. You dont want to be to alike the millions of other sites that are using the script.

Iv also found that if you can be a little inventive in where you get your content from you will do much better than if you just get it from the same place as everybody else.

Update it very regularly, mine was updated twice a day, adding anywhere between 50 and 200 articles each time.

If you are thinking you might be able to get some easy money then im afraid not, an article site is just as much work as anything else.

I had an article directory, and it made money
from Adsense. I sold it because it was too
time consuming for me. I used a free script
and modified it to separate it from the crowd.

I was getting subs from several different
sources, so there was plenty of content
coming in. So much coming in that I got
tired of approving the articles and sold the
    whole shooting match.

I tried to keep the trash out of my directory,
so it became too time intensive.

If you want a quality directory, get ready
to put in some time on it.

There are a ton of article directories out
there, but if you push yours you can make
some cash. I won't say how much, but it
    is possible.

With an articles directory, you will only really be profitable if you can get good rankings in the major search engines. If you can't do this then all you will get is submissions and not much earnings as people will only go to your site mainly for their submissions.

Just make sure you send off your URL to those article submitting programs - getting in a few of those could help. :)

Yes, an article directory can be profitable. There are multiple ways to earn income using an article directory if you can make it visible enough. That will be the key to the success so that its not only adsense, but you can make it part of a banner ad network. The later will require that you visitors and page views can sustain that type of advertising.
