Is it Possible With XOOM?

    I am a resident of India. I have some funds in my Paypal account. I want these funds through XOOM to be sent by Demand Draft or Cheque. But can i do it? One of my friend said that you cannot transfer money since XOOM asks for a Social Security Number which is given to US citizens. Is that true. If yes are there any other alternatives.

    Yes you can do that. If you have indian paypal account and you want to send money to yourself through xoom then you can do that without any problem. But only bank deposit or demand draft option is available (no pickup).

    An SSN is required, yes. And xoom will not process the transaction (they used to previously but they do not now) if your paypal account is Indian.

    Your best bet if you don't know anyone who will let you use their SSN is VMI, or look into ways of opening a US bank account.
