A few minutes ago I was reading an entry from Google Adwords Help that concerned me a bit. Source: http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=47166&ctx=sibling Affiliate URLs Affiliate Policy Google Adwords monitors and doesn't allow the following: 1 Redirect URLs: Ads that contain URLs that automatically redirect to the parent company. 2 Bridge Pages: Ads for web pages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company. 1 Currently I'm using a php code to redirect urls, because I think CJ URLs can hurt sales. This means that there are two redirects: my php redirect and CJ's redirect to advertiser site. Does this means that I cannot use Adwords to advertise my site? 2 What can I do other than linking to the advertiser's site? I cannot sell the product myself I hope some with more experience on Goole Adwords can help me understand this better.
most advertisers if you are using their brand in the adword copy usually require you to link directly, so you would have to use the CJ URL. have you made sure you have read the merchant T&C's as they often clarify what you can and cannot do. why do you think CJ links can hurt sales? i am no adwords specialist but there are tons of affiliates bidding on keywords, sending to a website which contains CJ links. there are also lots of affiliates bidding on terms and sending traffic direct to merchants using CJ urls.
Hi digimac. What I want is to create a landing page where visitors can check out the features and benefits of a product, along with a link to the advertiser's site (CJ link), but the second point of Google's affiliate policy is pretty much saying that this is not allowed. Probably, I'm not understanding something. And I use PHP redirects because a URL like this http://www.dpbolvw.net/[ver-long-code] could look very suspicious to someone who doesn't know what CJ is. Could someone help me clarify this?
As I understand, as long as you put some contents on your landing page, Google will not pick on you. Bottomline Google is making money from you.
