    Is it possible to trace IP of you friend which is connected you through yahoo/Gmail messenger

    Officially u cant .. but using some tricks u can get the ip and then traceroute the ip..but y ?

    I was able to find the ip address of my friend without any software while he was sending me photo.
    Just check the IP connections with Netstat in command prompt when sending/accepting file .

    It is better to use Netstats than any other application to check the IP address of the other user. It is pretty simple to track the IP address and the commands to this are very simple :)
