About a month ago i decided to set up a million pixel site. Now i know this is an old idea that has been copied thousands of times over, but on my site I explain exactly what its for. So i am hoping this appeals to people's good nature because it shows that any money generated from it will not simply be going to waste. and in return they get a backlink for their site. The next step is advertising... but just how should i advertise such a site? or is it not worth pursuing nowadays?
It is really difficult because Google has basically cracked down on these types of websites. Before they were kind of cool and innovative and the backlinks may have been worth at least something. Nowdays, they aren't really worth anything so advertisers don't want to advertise there and Google isn't going to like the site either. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, this is just the facts about it.
i know its going to be tough getting people to sign up. However i disagree with u saying google dont like them, my site ranks #1 in google for a two word phrase which has over 18 million results, just a shame no one searches for that phrase!!!
You need to develop a twist... maybe a Niche or something... I was just blogging about the Million Dollar Homepage today...
I think it's still possible. But you will never earn too much though. That's absolutely obvious nobody will buying the pixels for $1 per pixel... maybe $0.10, or even less. Also it will take a lot of time to close it, surely not 4 month which was need for Alex Tew.
