Anything's possible, but it would require seriously hard work, long nights and dedication.

I have a question: how accurate is Alexa's page ranking? Is it something I should pay attention to?

Not very accurate - I sure wouldn't pay much attention to it.

    Something like www.quantcast.com is better.

A few years back a guy started out with a paper clip and trade that paper clip for a pencil, then trade that pencil for a pen and so on and so forth until he got a house out of it. The guy did it as a joke but end up with a house. True story. Just google him. so who knows your painting might be worth something down the road.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but the value of money actually halves every year roughly, so if you assume that you're going to accumulate that over 40 years (i.e. you're 25 now) then you've actually only made $62,500 from your $4,000 in real terms; you have to strip out inflation in these calculations. Still not a bad investment, but not quite $1m.

I think the milliondollarhomepage was clever, but the guy who created it had background in PR so he was able to get it in the public domain alot easier. I would definitly give it a try though, just understand you will need to dedicate a lot of time to it and it may or may not work.

It is entirely possible to make $1M primarily from efforts geared toward the internet, but most people in that range are spending gobs of money up front to make it happen.
I think it's likely that search marketing campaigns (Adwords) basically on auto-pilot are the ones doing this.
Hundreds of campaigns and thousands of keywords....all on the experiment, wash, rinse and repeat cycle.
