is it possible to link to flash video and play with custom controls?

    Kind of like image linking.
    Can flv files be hotlinked? Basically connect to it and show up on my site where users can play/pause/adjust volume from controls from my site?

    Examples/tutorials would be great.

    there are lots of video hosting sites like youtube,hotlixs where you can upload you videos and provide the link to your site where you can play it on your site
