Is it possible to just encrypt footer.php for WordPress?

    Is it possible to just encrypt footer.php for WordPress?

    I just want to encrypt the one php file. If it is possible what is the best software to do this with?

    Yes it is possible to encrypt just one file. If it is wordpress, what keeps them from replacing the encrypted footer with a standard distro footer.php to get past the encryption?
