Hi DPers! I'm not sure if this is in the right section but, Is it possible for a search engine to index and voice recognize (speech to text) video? If not, is it possible to design a script that can do so? Thanks!
Submit your video to popular video sharing site like youtube, you might be appear in the google search result.
Add meta data - description, author(s) name(s), web site address, put some important data ( keywords ) in the description, and enjoy the effect.
Yes it is possible and i think it leads to get more traffic and also indirectly increases the page rank of your site.
hi no need of any script just got to http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=80472 hope this will help you good luck
Google was working with Adobe a year or so back to find a way to index flash content. This does stretch out to cover video files embedded in a . swf
Google can Index the Video but if you wants to promote it's you should have to submit it's in you tube, Meta Cafe etc. if you wants for a search engine to index and voice recognize (speech to text) video you should have to put text files over there that what is your video tells about.
Yes, Google is indexing video. Just you have to optimize your video, i.e put following; Put Good Title [ Include Keyword] Put descriptive Meta Description [ Include Keyword] And submit it to various popular Video submission sites, Google Video YouTube TubeMogul Yahoo Video Daily Motion Metacafe and simply enjoy the indexing.
Gamertalk Almost anything is technically possible... however it is not currently done in the sense that you are looking for. You would be looking for something akin to OCR or Optical Character Recognition but for video instead of images. I know what your looking for but I am fairly confident that this technology may exist but is not applied for the internet. Voice recognition software is out there... again, not applied in this medium though. Hope that helps
Im pretty confident that there is not, at least not in the context that he wants to. Voice recognition software would be the closest solution. You cant just upload a file to the internet and have a spider/bot index the conversations of everyone in the video. If im wrong, please give me a name to some software that does this.
If your aim is to get indexed some video files on your source - themn don't forget to make them SEO-friendly, because then search results will depend on the videos as well.
Google does index video actually, I have a few video files on my site that are indexed in google. Though it cannot extract keywords form the voice as of yet - probably not for some years. As to your 2nd question, yes it is possible, but it would take years to develop even for an extremely experienced programmer.
