Is it possible to increase the value of a domain?

Lets face it. Some domain names don't really make sense when they are first registered. How can i increase the value of a domain that seems worthless at first look?

Yeah nothing do make sense when they were first registered. Look at delicious, digg, flickr and of course bullshit like icanhascheezburger? Any bullshit can be really successful but the only way to increase the value of a domain of such is to develop them into some really successful site.

Im sure, if it wasnt because of the unavailability, no one wants to add an extra alphabet in their name or simply scrambling some words to form a name. It wasnt because of the creativity but simply because creativity is cheaper than something that make sense.

A successful site makes a name popular. The value of your domain will go up with the traffic on your site.

Yes you would need to develop it as a site and even a brand name for bigger success.
