Is there a free webhost out there I can set up a proxy on? As long as it has all the services needed for the script to work.
Then when I get traffic/refers I will move on to a payed host?

    Thanks for any input.

No you can't run it on free hosting. First of all they would display ads on your site and the main thing is that you will have no Mysql option to setup your proxy.

However some free hosts dont display ads and may provide you with the Mysql feature but still you can host it cuz most hosts don't allow proxy sites on their servers.

If you choose free hosting services, you will always have downtimes and your visitors will be waiting long our to upload a page.

angel_eyes: since when do proxy scripts need mysql??? phproxy, glype, zelune & cgiproxy do not need mysql. also my own selfcoded proxy goes without a database.

szalinski: most of the automated free webhosting services forbid proxies by their TOS due to high server usage and abuse potencial.

still, you might be able to find some smaller post-2-host-freehosts on which you could sure run a proxy unnoticed for a while.
but in the long run they all will kick you.

look here in the board are many people offering cheap proxy hosting in offshore locations... better go for that. $3 or $5 a month should easily be financable.

if you cant get the cash back by conventional banner-ads try another business model, like selling proxy-tickets in your private scene, when going out or at school.
sell 5 guys a year proxy for $10 each, and you have already paid hosting for a year...
