Is it possible to hook up a Xbox 360 controller to a PC without any equipment?

    Yes, it is possible to use the Xbox 360 controller with a PC without any additional equipment. I have two Xbox 360 wired controllers and use them exclusively with the PC. They connect via USB port. After you connect them to your computer Windows will download drivers for them. They work great. :) I really like the Xbox 360 controllers. The reason I bought it is because GTA 4 supports it and did not support the old game pad I had. One thing I learned by accident is that the two joystick controls on the 360 are also buttons you can push down.

    I believe the 360 controllers have been discontinued and replaced by the Xbox One controller. When I looked on line at the Xbox One controllers, they were wired and wireless controllers in one so if you purchase a receiver, you can unplug the cord from the controller and play wireless on the PC. If you want to play wireless, you will need a receiver.

    Yeah I just plug mine right in to the USB. It thinks for a second and then im good to go.
