Is it possible to edit your page urls that are indexed in google?

I have a big problem. I run an online store and i use yahoo! stores but I want to move to a better ecommerce host. The problem is all of these other ecommerce services require that my links be structured differently, and I don't want to lose all of my backlinks and the time/money I've invested in getting my pages ranked. Is there any way to edit the links that are already indexed in google so that the SE knows theyre the same pages??

Redirect is the most efficient and Search Engine Friendly method for webpage redirection. It's not that hard to implement and it should preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page so make 301 redirect use.

You can do all these mentioned but remember it might take some time for Google to update the changes. Could take weeks.

The most effective and reliable method for your procedure is the 301 redurect process which has been invented by google. You can find the link for it in the above posts. Better to go by the books, my friend, do not take risks. I dont think there is any other method except this.

Some patience would be needed since the Googlebot would need to be revisiting your site all over again, replacing the older pages scans and caches with newer ones.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. At first I was worried that 301 redirects would be seen as doorway or cloaked pages and i wasnt aware that google invented it, so this information is useful :)
