Hi all, I am curious that is it possible to edit a .swf flash document? My problem is i have to edit 2 flash games. But i dont have the .fla versions of them. That do you suggest for me? Thanks
Yes, you can try to decompile the swf file and export an fla file but not all the time the actionscript code is correct and you mi get some errors. Let me know if you need help. Thanks!
Thanks for the replies. So i guess the best thing is find the fla versions and edit them. I need to add a high score based system to these two games. Lots of work to do.
It is possible but the changes would be limited. Long back I had edited 1 swf file through some Free software (Got from Googling)
depends on what you want to edit in the SWF, however the SWF was created just for distributing animations, not modifying them too
I've used the Sothink SWF Decompiler and it seems to work pretty well, so long as you have a full version of the Flash IDE to open the resulting .fla file. Newer versions seem to be able to convert Flash files to HTML 5. Haven't tried that one yet, but if anyone's looking to abandon Flash (something I always advocate), that may be the way to go, too.
You can decompile swf file and save it as fla so that you can edit it. But you wont the 100% editable swf file, but still you can edit it and use it for your purpose. I have done it previously, but dont remember the software at present.
you are edited in .fla file not the swf. But if u want to change the video format that's the thing u can do that
