Obviously with wired ports, that would probably work. I've seen APs offer bridge mode but not routers. You'd first need to make sure both router offers something like this. If not, find a firmware to replace that router with bridge mode. Keep in mind any wireless bridge broadcast is locked to a single device by MAC address. A bridged AP cannot provide a signal to PCs as well as be a bridge. Your router is in downstairs and you want the signal in an upstairs room and the upstairs room has PCs that will be wired to a switch. The wired ports on a router are actually a switch. You have two choice. If the signal from the downstairs router is strong enough to contact an upstairs bridge, you might be able to use something as simple as a USB wifi adapter. But, if you want to bridge the two areas via wireless, you will probably need to purchase a dedicated bridge device or an AP. If you wanted to use Ethernet to the PCs in your room, you'd need small switch to connect to the wireless bridge..
If your routers don't support it, you should consider a powerline adapter kit. It will extend your network by using your home's existing electrical wires. However, they have to be on the same circuit breaker.
Research into Wireless Repeaters or Bridge Mode. Check if any of your devices have this feature built in. You may find your devices support bridge mode
Look I've gone this route before and honestly it was a big waste of time and money. What actually worked like magic was purchased a Power Line adapter. Now I have one router on the top floor of the house (the modem/router) and second router connected through Power Line in the basement. Using Power Line you get an amazing connection. Honestly check it out and I don't think you will regret it. For price reference I bought my power line adapter for about ~$25 and it came with two adapters.
