Is it possible to cache side menu in a website?

I have a website which has 2 side menus. The 2 side menus on my website are static, but the center div element is changing when I navigate different pages of my site. (it is
    quantcode.com )
The website causes heavy flickering in Google chrome when I am navigating different pages, because the side menu is getting recreated everytime. it however works fine in firefox.
My side menus are inside a div element. Can someone please advice if I can cache contents of the div element?

Are you using a templating system? Something like smarty? You could put the side navs in templates and cache them.

Thanks for your reply. I am using XOOPS content management system, which I think internally uses smarty. I want to cache the div element for the side menu at the client level. I am not familiar with hacking smarty, but can make html or javascript changes to my XOOPS template file which creates the div elements of the side menu
